Measuring Guide
How to Measure Yourself for the Perfect Fit
To ensure that you get the most accurate measurements, it’s best to have someone else measure you using a cloth measuring tape. Before you begin, wear something that fits snugly so that your measurements are as precise as possible. When taking your measurements, make sure not to pull the tape too tightly around your body - you want to leave a little bit of room so that you can breathe comfortably! To determine your size, follow these simple steps:
- Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust, usually above the nipple. Keep in mind that this is not the same as your bra size!
- Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your waist, typically 1-2 inches above your belly button.
- Hips: Measure around the widest part of your hips.
When selecting a size, we recommend basing your decision on your hip measurement. If you find that you fall between two sizes, it’s best to go with the larger size and have the dress tailored to fit you perfectly. Additionally, you may go with the area of your body that has the highest measurement, and have the rest of the gown altered to your fit. For example, if your bust measurement corresponds to a Medium but your waist measurement corresponds to a Large, we suggest choosing the Large size and having the bust altered.
Please keep in mind that even with careful measuring, the dress may not fit perfectly right off the bat. In most cases, some alterations will be necessary to achieve the perfect fit. As a general rule, a dress can be taken in by up to 2 sizes by a skilled tailor.
